ACTION ALERT - Say NO to Budget Balancing on the Backs of Vulnerable People

Heidi • May 16, 2025

While we do celebrate the news that California Governor Gavin Newsom’s FY 2025-26 revised budget indicates the closure of a fifth California prison, there are other cuts proposed coming at the expense of California's most vulnerable people. The new revised budget proposes to solve California’s budget deficit by balancing the budget on the backs of the state’s seniors, people with disabilities, low-income individuals, and undocumented residents. This revised budget does not reflect our values!

Instead of proposing bold revenue solutions or tackling the real culprit, corporate greed in health care, the May Revise includes cruel and short-sighted proposals that will worsen health outcomes and increase health care costs.

We very much hope our supporters and advocates who share our values of fairness and proper representation for ALL California people communities will join us by signing onto this document - May Revise Leave Behind (opens as a Mircosoft Word download) urging legislators to say no to cuts that will harm our communities.

Take Action and get your name added to the May Revise Leave Behind letter HERE --->>> SIGN-ON: Say "No" to Cutting Coverage and Benefits for Immigrants, Seniors, and Disabled Individuals in Medi-Cal (opens a Google Form)

Also, please feel free to share this information with your social media, professional, and advocacy network.

We are always so grateful for the passion and advocacy of our supporters. We aim to see the California state budget reflect our values, and taking action toward that end is the most important action you can do today to see that through.
