Pardon Laura Hernandez and Keep Her Home

Laura is an advocate for prison-impacted immigrant and refugee communities

Laura Hernandez is well-known in the DropLWOP community as a fierce advocate for our immigrant and refugee communities. She also serves as an advocate for all of our justice and LWOP-impacted families, always uplifting the many people she left inside of California state women's prisons after her conditional release three years ago. However, due to her past conviction, she's been unable to renew her green card and runs the risk of deportation, despite her valued service to her community. Laura needs our support; please see her message below, sign her pardon campaign petition, and share with your communities.

Some of you may know that I recently began my Pardon Campaign. I am a Long Term Permanent Resident (LPR) of the United States who has not been able to renew my green card due to my conviction. I served 15 years on a 27-year life sentence. I will be celebrating three years of conditional freedom this June 29th. I am asking the governor to pardon me so that I can renew my green card and not live in fear of deportation.

I am humbly asking for you to sign and share my petition and help get me to 10K signatures! I know that is a lofty goal but I believe we can achieve it! Not a day goes by where I forget to advocate for myself! I have a team of people that encourage and remind me to do what I need to do, and I am so grateful. Many of you know that I try to be a fierce advocate for others, so I just need to add myself to the mix! :)  Please also follow me on Instagram @keeplaurahome and be on the lookout for sharing and uplifting social media posts and other opportunities to engage with my campaign!

Thank you all for supporting me and for being the fearless champions of the immigrants rights movement.

In Solidarity,

Laura Hernandez
