On June 1st, California State Senator Dave Cortese (District 15) gathered with supporters of SB 300 to announce the movement of the bill through the California State Assembly Committee on Public Safety (5 yea, 2 nay). The bill now awaits a vote in the Committee on Appropriations in August 2022. Additional speakers included SB 300 advocates Lynn Williams and Jamil Wilson, Yolanda Ledesma with Silicon Valley De-Bug, and ULCA Gender Studies professor, anti-violence advocate, and co-founder of Survived and Punished, Alisa Bierria.
