SB 300 Passes the Senate!

Joanne Scheer • July 17, 2021

We are so excited to share the wonderful news that SB 300 passed the Senate Floor today with a vote count of 27-8! Thank you all for your support and tireless efforts in bringing SB 300 to this victory. We so greatly appreciate the commitment shown by Senator Cortese and his hard working staff, as well as our amazing co-authors Senators Bradford, Kamlager, Skinner, and Wiener. We are grateful to you all.

The Legislature is in recess for the next four weeks and will reconvene in August. The next step for SB 300 will be the vote by the Assembly Public Safety Committee. We have some hard work ahead of us as we head into the Assembly, still needing 2/3 votes to pass. We'll be scheduling Zoom meetings with Assembly legislators over the next few weeks. As constituents, your voices carry great weight with your legislators.

If you haven't yet done so, would you please email Daniel Trautfield at dtrautfield@gmail.com with your name, email address, and the name of your district Assembly Member so we can invite you to participate when a meeting is held with your legislator?

Thanks again to you all and may God bless you as we strive together toward victory.

Love, Joanne
