SB94 Passes CA Senate Public Safety Committee
Bill moves through CA Senate after passing committee with a 4-1 vote

Yesterday, the California Senate Public Safety Committee passed SB94 (Senator Dave Cortese) with a 4-1 vote. Up next is a hearing in front of the Senate Appropriations Committee. A date has not been set yet for this hearing. As soon as that date is scheduled, we will let our supporters and advocates know.
Everyone at the Felony Murder Elimination Project is deeply and profoundly grateful to all of our supporters, both inside and outside of prison walls, for all the letters of support and phone calls made to loudly voice their support of SB94. Our movement is powered by those very persons who see the need for fairer and more equitable sentencing guidelines and reducing mass incarceration in California and throughout the United States.
As soon as a date is set for the Appropriations Committee hearing, we'll let you all know. We look forward to your continued support and advocacy as together, we move this bill through the legislative process with the goal of seeing Governor Newsom's signature in the fall.
Again, thank you all.
