Tomorrow - Clemency Rally in Sacramento

Heidi • November 12, 2024

Join the Clemency Coalition for Rally Day TOMORROW, Wednesday November 13th, from 8a-11a in Sacramento! The Coalition will be meeting at the Capitol building on the west steps (10th Street and Capitol Avenue).

We need our supporters and advocates to stand with the Clemency Coalition as we rally for second chances and justice for our community members impacted by harsh sentencing. Together, we will amplify our voices to demand clemency and fair treatment for all from Governor Gavin Newsom. This is a powerful moment to show support for clemency reforms that offer life-changing opportunities and healing for those affected by unjust laws and sentencing.

Governor Newsom knows California’s death penalty process is inhumane, dysfunctional, racially biased, and error-prone. He should use his executive authority to confront the systemic failures of this outdated policy and take steps to grant clemency in all death-sentenced cases. This isn’t about individual cases, it is about a system that is unjust, ineffective, and unfixable.
