Webinar from Sentencing Project - Why Youth Incarceration Fails
Webinar on July 27th 10am PT discusses alternatives to youth incarceration

Decades of evidence leave no doubt that locking up our kids harms their futures and does little to protect public safety. A webinar scheduled on Thursday July 27th at 10am Pacific Time, free and open to the public, is offered from The Sentencing Project and brings together experts to talk about alternatives-to-incarceration program models, bringing together experts, mentors, and people who’ve benefited from the alternatives.
This webinar accompanies a recently released report from The Sentencing Project, "Effective Alternatives to Youth Incarceration." This report identified six alternatives to youth incarceration program models that consistently produce better public safety outcomes than incarceration, with far less disruption to young people’s healthy adolescent development while using significantly less financial and taxpayer resources than traditional, carceral-based methods.
