FMEP-Sponsored Bills AB 958 & SB 94 Pass Public Safety Committees
Both bills referred to respective Appropriations Committees for hearings

On Tuesday, two bills sponsored by Felony Murder Elimination project were heard in Public Safety Committees in the California Assembly and Senate.
After passing on the full Senate floor in May, Senate Bill 94 (Dave Cortese, SD15) was heard in a Assembly Public Safety Committee hearing and passed with a 6-2 vote (Y-Bonta, Bryan, Jackson, Jones-Sawyer, Ortega, Santiago; N-Alanis, Lackey).
Conversely, after passing on the full Assembly floor also in May, Assembly Bill 958 (Miguel Santiago, AD54) was heard in the Seante Public Safety Commitee hearing and passed with a 4-1 vote (Y-Bradford, Skinner, Wahab, Wiener; N-Ochoa Bogh).
Both bills were referred forward to respective Appropriations Committee hearings; SB 94 in the Assembly and AB 958 in the Senate.
As soon as the date of those hearings are announced, we will be sure to inform our supporters who have been instrumental in helping us move these common-sense, safe, and compassionate bills through the Legislative process. As always, we thank all of you for everything you've done so far to make your voices heard to make our criminal justice process a more fair and equitable system for everyone.
